1st Visit

20 - 23 August 2018

Fern, Pete and I arrived from Norway courtesy of Atlantic Airways. At Vagar airport we met up with Braz and the lads explored this rarely visited Danish territory. We all delighted in the rugged scenery and were gobsmacked by the massive investment to connect the island communities with tunnels and good roads. We drove and hiked our way around 6 of the 18 islands. The community of just 50,000 survives primarily through fishing thus everywhere were moored fishing boats. The highlight were our hikes with the classic Villingardalsfjall taking top spot; we were all pleased to manage an 800m steep climb to the peak.
