Our Encounter Overland tour took us from India to Chitwan National park, where I was chased by an Asian rhino and then the tour ended at Kathmandu. After a wonderful relaxing time Braz & I undertook a 4 week trek from Jiri, where the road ends, to Everest base camp and the peak of Kala Patar at 5545m (~17,500 feet). We returned to Jiri by the same route. This 4 weeks cost us for everything, including equipment hire & permits, £100 each! This was a fantastic enlightening trip which introduced me to the wonders of mountains. Braz & I then ventured back into India.
