The 14 hour bus journey from
Singapore
got me to Butterworth. A ferry journey took me to Georgetown, the capital
of Penang island. A fishing boat took me & other travellers to a camp
on a deserted beach. Spent 5 days partying for Christmas. Braz joined on
Christmas Eve. Left on own for
Indonesia.
Arrived at Penang from
Indonesia.
Shared room at Joyplanet hotel with two danish sisters. Organised a few
things and then set off for
Thailand.
The 18 hour bus journey from
Thailand
took Claire & I to Kuala Lumpur. After exploring the city we took to
the cool climate of the Cameron Highlands. A 11 hour bus journey took us
Kuala Tregganu on the east coast. The next move was to the paradise island
of Pulau Perhentian Besar. From there we returned to
Thailand.
The start of the
Odyssey
Express gave me a few hours in Kula Lumpar
whilst waiting for my connection to
Vietnam.
I took the opportunity to visit the then world's highest building. All
went very smoothly and I got onto a tour of the Petronas Towers; 452 metres
high.
From
Singapore
we flew to the island of Tioman for some luxury. A speed boat dropped
us at our accommodation which was well below what we expected. The
next day we moved to a luxury resort and chilled. Excellent
snorkelling; found Nemo!
