2nd Visit

25 - 29 March 2013

I flew in from Malaysia into Ho Chi Minh city and was just in time to meet Anne off her flight from Australia. Thus, our Odyssey Express journey began in earnest. With the amazing efficiency of the family networks transport and accommodotion was easily found at very cheap prices. A discovery was ice coffee; local coffee was delicious. After chilling in Hanoi we flew to Beijing.
Our speed boat cruised Fern & I down the Mekong river from Phnom Penh, Cambodia to Chou Doc, Vietnam. After a luxurious stay at the Victoria hotel we toured the lovely Tra Su bird sanctuary. Our taxi then took us to Cai Bei via Sa Dec. After some more luxury at the Mekong River resort we headed into Ho Chi Minh. We met Braz & Pete off the airplane and thus the lads were united again. We managed a day's cycling around Cu Chi. Alas I had to return to Sydney after only 2 days together. Although more developed Vietnam was still dominated by motorbikes.
