Said goodbye to the family in Samoa and a 35 minute flight, crossing the international dateline, got me to this American territory. Renting a scooter really paid off and I spent a few fun days speeding around the windy quiet coastal roads and exploring the main island of Tutuila. Then a small plane and ferry boat got me off the beaten track to the island of Ofu. I spent 2 days enjoying what is considered by some the best beach in the world and amazingly I was the only soul on that beach; that is a rare experience in todays crowded world.
