Bahrain

1st Visit

The bus took me across the impressive 25km King Fahd causeway from Saudi Arabia to Manama the capital of Bahrain. I decided to walk to the hotel but crossing motorways at night with luggage proved difficult so I grabbed a taxi which of course short changed me. Thus vowed to take no more taxis and with the combination of regular buses, smart technolgy and walking regardless of heat achieved this and saved a fortune. Had all the sites to myself and everyone was most helpful. The National musuem was well laid out and a boat ride took one to the start of the Pearling path. I got lost but enjoyed the walk. My stay at the IBIS hotel was excellent. My tour continued with a flight to Kuwait.
