Arrived from
Madagascar and picked up the small left-hand drive car and was pleased to find the Airbnb in the maze of Labattoir, Peteite Terre. Emersed into the french territory with no one
speaking english and all french food. Took the ferry to the main island in time to catch a blue water safari; the weather was perfect and the all day boat tour was fabulous. Whales, dolphins, manta ray
and great snorkelling. The planned easy drive to the south of the island foundered in a 1 hour traffic jam; the island has one of the fastest population growths in the world and with heavy
french investment has resulted in a crowded island. The drive became even more challenging with a puncture and driving in the dark with no signs or street lights. Made it to the resort and was rewarded
with an upgrade to a luxury bungalow on the beach. Next day rested and snorkelled off the beach and explored coral reefs and ran into a turtle. Then flew to
Comoros.
