Whilst waiting for the ferry from
Turkmenistan to dock in Baku the Russian
TV news showed CNN coverage of 'America Under Attack'. We all recognised
that this was a major event and many wanted to go home. Despite being
surrounded by land ruined by the quest for oil Baku itself is an
attractive city; enjoyed watching the beautiful people parade in the main
square. The journey to
Georgia was very scenic;
we left the arid coastal plain and drove into the lush green hills. We
stayed in a beautiful caravanserai that is now a hotel in Sheki.
