The train from
Hungary took us to the Adriatic port of Rijeke. The
ferry took us to the island of Mali Losinj, not our intended destination. A
unforgettable visit which involved our sleeping bags being stolen and the 6 of
us sleeping under a small porch in heavy rain The
Inter Rail 1982 tour then took us to another part
of former Yugoslavia which is now
Slovenia.
The Trans-Alpino train took us to the Italain port of Ancona
and a ferry took us across the Adriatic to Zadar. From there we headed south to
the ports of Sibernik and Split. Fiona, Susan, Helen, Braz and I discovered the
natural paradise of the Krka national park near Split where I almost drowned. We
visited Korcula island and the outstanding walled city of Dubrovnik. On our
return we stopped off in
San Marino.
We arrived in Zagreb early via train from
Slovenia. Our tour was limited due to heavy rain.
Lorraine & I flew back home and waved goodbye to Mark who returned to
Bosnia.
