Inter Rail 1981
Braz, Pete and I hit Europe on our own for the first time.
First year of university complete, and the lads took full advantage of the great-value European Inter Rail pass. We ventured forth into the unknown, sleeping on trains and station platforms and living on the cheapest food we could find — and after this tour I was hooked: exploring was wonderful.

One month, £92, unlimited trains
Valid 22 August to 21 September 1981, this little card was the ticket to the whole trip: unlimited second-class rail travel across most of Europe for a month, for the price of a few nights out. For three students, it was the only way this adventure was ever going to happen.
